Christmas with the Kranks

Rated PG

Starring Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd

“Christmas with the Kranks” is such an awful film that I gave serious thought about whether or not I should even waste my time writing a review of the movie. John Grisham is a fantastic author, but he should’ve drawn the line when filmmakers wanted to adapt his novel Skipping Christmas into this piece of garbage.

When he learns that his daughter will be away for Christmas with the Peace Core, Luther Krank (Tim Allen) decides to skip Christmas with his wife, Nora (Jamie Lee Curtis), and take a cruise instead. This outrageous plan infuriates the Krank’s neighbors, and off begins a disastrous, pitiful tale of a middle-aged couple attempting to escape their Christmas-obsessed neighbors.

But suddenly, a startling revelation is uncovered – the Krank’s daughter changes her mind and is actually coming home for Christmas! Gee, I sure hope the Kranks’ have enough time to secure the last Christmas ham at the local grocery store!

My sarcastic enthusiasm above symbolizes the hatred I have for “Christmas with the Kranks.” In comparison, “Home Alone” looks like a masterpiece.
