The Incredibles

Rated PG-13

With the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson

****

Topping the masterpiece “Finding Nemo” is quite hard, but somehow Pixar Animations Studio seemed to at least equal their last effort with “The Incredibles,” a funny and original look at a family of superheroes.

Craig T. Nelson provides the voice for Mr. Incredible, who, after a number of lawsuits, has retired from being a superhero so he can raise a family and lead a normal life under the name Bob Parr. His retirement comes to a halt, however, when he is forced to face a new nemesis – Syndrome (Jason Lee), who plans to destroy all hiding superheroes. With the help of his family members, including his wife Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), son Dash, and daughter Violet, Mr. Incredible saves the day, and so does Pixar, an animation company famous for their fresh and inventive films.

If “The Incredibles” isn’t on the same level as “Finding Nemo,” it’s very close. Pixar movies should truly come out more often.
