Lilo and Stitch

With The Voices Of Tia Carrere, Ving Rhames

***

Rated PG

“Lilo And Stitch” is a great kids film that was much better than the last animated film, “Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron.”

It tells the story of an alien creature, who escapes from his spacecraft, and lands on earth. A lonely, parent-less girl named Lilo wants a friend, so her sister, Nani, takes her to the dog pound where they mistake the creature for a cute mutt.  They adopt the creature and name him Stitch.   Lilo and Stitch become great friends and share many experiences and adventures.  There is great humor in this film and some interesting supporting characters including a social worker (Ving Rhames)  who keeps threatening to take Lilo from Nani , and several creatures after Stitch. Family is emphasized and there are various messages sent to the viewers about sticking together, no matter what.

I won’t give away the end, except (as most Disney movies do) it ends happy. But instead of this being a boring, non-appealing kids film, this is a movie that will entertain both adults and children – sparked by some nice Elvis songs.
