Ocean's 12

            Way back in December 2001, everyone in America was marveling at the brilliance of the star-studded heist flick “Ocean’s 11.” Three years later, a sequel has arrived, and it’s safe to say that “Ocean’s 12” is just as clever, funny, and awesome as it’s predecessor.

            George Clooney is back as Danny Ocean, who is living with his wife, Tess (Julia Roberts) in harmony. When we last saw Mr. Ocean, he had just robbed (along with the 11 people of the title) a Las Vegas casino owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia.) After three years of searching, Benedict has uncovered Ocean’s 11, and wants all of his money back – plus interest – in two weeks.  Ocean gets his 11 back together, and off they travel to Europe, where (hopefully) they will steal enough money to pay Benedict back.

Of course, “Ocean’s 12” is the kind of movie where you’re bound to have a good time even if the movie is completely bad, thanks to the super-sized cast including Clooney, Roberts, Garcia, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bernie Mac, Elliot Gould, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, and even a few surprise cameos. In the end, the marvel turns out to be that “Ocean’s 12” is not some lame, money-hungry, lazy star project; in fact, it’s the exact opposite.
