Sky High

Starring Kurt Russell, Kelly Preston, Bruce Campbell, Lynda Carter

Rated PG

I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting a lot from “Sky High,” but the film, to my surprise, was actually very smart and witty. Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston star as The Commander and Jetstream, the world’s two greatest superheroes, who live under secret identities as realtors. Their son, Will, is destined for great things, but he is still unsure of what his super power actually is.

Will is attending Sky High, his father’s alma-mater, and a school strictly for the offspring of those with super powers. Once there, the freshmen are divided into two groups, depending on the greatness of their powers: Hero or Sidekick. Will gets placed into the Sidekick group, but is afraid to tell his dad.

“Sky High” is cheesy, but in a good way. The young actors are all believable and interesting, and the adults (including “Wonder Woman” Lynda Carter as the school’s principal, and Bruce Campbell as a coach) are all hilarious.
