2 Fast 2 Furious

Rated PG-13 for violence, street racing, language, and some sensuality

Starring Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Eva Mendes

I liked “2 Fast 2 Furious” much more than I thought I would. I judged my previous opinion off of my disliking of the first one, and my disliking that someone would make a film just about cars. Then I saw the sequel, and learned that there could be more to it. For the first “Fast and Furious,” cars were an excuse to see the movie. For the second, cars have nothing to do with going to see it.

Paul Walker returns as Brian O’ Connor, a former undercover cop who makes money at night by street-racing. He is soon encountered by Monica (Eva Mendes), an undercover cop who, with other cops, is willing to take everything off of his record if he helps bring down a drug-dealer named Carter (Cole Hauser.) Brian picks Roman (Tyrese Gibson) as his partner, whose record will also be cleaned.

In order to prove that they’re worthy to Carter, Brian and Roman have to race other drivers to a car of his left in a secluded area. The first one to get there and take a package out of the car gets a chance to work for Carter. Of course, Brian and Roman get there first, and immediately start working for Carter, while Monica is getting information by romancing him.

This plot struck me as much deeper than the first one, and more thrilling. It is very entertaining and it had me interested throughout. If you could add one more word to Fast and Furious, I’d say Fun.
