The Young Black Stallion

Starring Biana G. Tamimi

Rated PG

“The Young Black Stallion” is the wonderful new kids film playing at the IMAX Theatre at the Bob Bullock State History Museum. The film stars Austinite Biana G. Tamimi in this prequel to the classic “The Black Stallion” movies.

Tamimi stars as Neera, a young girl living in the Middle East who becomes lost from her family. That is when Neera meets The Black Stallion, who makes the journey with Neera to find her family.

Once Neera reaches her family, the Black Stallion runs away, and her grandfather believes that the Black Stallion is something Neera hallucinated during her long desert journey.

The film winds up with a satisfying race sequence that proves what a skilled horse-rider Tamimi is in real life. Although the film contains some thematic moments, children will probably be delighted with the 51-minute “The Young Black Stallion,” which is rated G.
